Crew Chiefs

Jimmy Elledge : Biography

Jimmy Elledge, crew chief for Target Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates, joined the team after serving as crew chief for Andy Petree Racing and driver Bobby Hamilton, where he earned his first victory as crew chief of the No. 55 car.

While working with driver Casey Mears in 2004, Elledge helped the young driver score two pole positions and nine top-10 finishes in the NEXTEL Cup Series, en route to a 22nd-place finish in the season standings.

Elledge originally intended to make a career as a driver before deciding to focus on the mechanical side of racing in 1992. During his years of experience, Elledge has worked with and learned from some of the best names in racing, including Robert Yates, Richard Childress and the late Dale Earnhardt.

"Jimmy has been an asset not only to the development of Casey but an asset to this organization as a whole," Ganassi said. "With more than 15 years experience in racing, Jimmy brings great knowledge to our team as well as excellent leadership abilities."

Elledge was born in Redding, California, and currently resides in Mooresville, North Carolina, with his wife Kelly and daughter Karsyn.
